GOSH, I’M 26! [ZOOM TREETOP ADVENTURE]

Posted by AC on Sunday Aug 8, 2010

For my birthday this year, I wanted a different kind of celebration. I was supposed to celebrate it with the less fortunate kids in an orphanage or something like what I did last year, a Jollibee birthday party with the kids of Gawad Kalinga. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to arrange the party coz of some personal issues that I had to deal with (if you know what I mean).

So to stick with my plan to celebrate in a different way, I decided to try this new zipline in Quezon City. I asked my friends if they can join me and good thing, they also wanted to try this except for Amae who’s not ecstatic at the thought of adrenaline rush and the likes.. (she’s just so into glam.. see, we’re so different from each other).

On my birthday (August 1), we went to Zoom Treetop Adventure in Circulo Verde in Quezon City (near Eastwood). If you’re familiar with the Treetop Adventure in Subic, they’re of the same company.

Since I already tried doing the usual (like Superman or flying flat on your stomach) style in Tagaytay and in Ecopark, I tried the Silver Surfer.

We decided to have it done at night coz I wanted to see the city lights from up in the air. :)

First, they put on the harness and other safety gears. They were very meticulous in putting them on, ensuring safety of their customers.

Then the helmet. Then they’d ask you to stand on that iron thing below (I don’t know how to call those grills.. haha!)

\

Time to let go!!!

Amae volunteered to be our photographer at the other end. Below are my pictures taken by her.

I didn’t care about how long I was hanging or how many times I went back and forth screaming. All I know is that it was exhilarating and fun… and “bitin”. :(

I want more. Perhaps, next time I’d go bungee jumping…. and skydiving? Hahaha!

A cool way to celebrate my birthday, isn’t it? :)

———

Zoom Treetop Adventure is located at Circulo Verde, Quezon City (open from 2PM to 10PM everyday)
Superman costs PHP400 per trip while the Silver Surfer costs PHP300.

LEGALLY BLONDE, THE MUSICAL

Posted by AC on Sunday Jun 27, 2010

It’s very seldom that I watch musical plays coz everytime I do, I always end up scratching my skin and wiping blood off my nose. Hahah! Just kidding. The truth is, watching plays is a bit pricey. Apart from it, I do not enjoy it as much as going out and traveling.

But yesterday, I watched Legally Blonde with my friend at the Meralco Theater. My friend’s colleagues bought a lot of tickets but their companions backed out a few days before the show. They asked if we can buy the tickets and we obliged. I don’t know why I agreed on watching this.. for a change, maybe? If I can still remember it right, the last play that I saw was “Aladdin” by Repertory in Greenbelt. And that was years ago, I think I was still in school then. Hahah!

Anyhoo, even if I’m not into this kind of thing, I really enjoyed the show. I loved the movie Legally Blonde (though it involves annoying sorority stuff that’s very much different from our sorority back in college). Hats off to Nikki Gil for successfully playing the role of Elle Woods. She’s so cute and funny. I was laughing hard everytime she would throw her nonsense slash ridiculous lines.

What surprised me is Nyoy Volante’s performance. I mean, yeah, he already starred in Hairspray (but I wasn’t able to see it so technically it was my first time to see him do musical play) but he’s known to be an acoustic singer and I never thought he can do this kind of act. He played Emmett here, Elle’s ally who later on became her love interest (they didn’t look good though coz Nikki’s way taller than Nyoy.. hehehe  ) But performance wise, Nyoy really was great.

The show also featured other celebrities such as:

Jett Pangan as Professor Callahan
Guji Lorenzana as Warner, the one who “helped Elle find her way the day he broke her heart”
Cris Villonco as Vivian, Warner’s new and “serious” girlfriend
Geneva Cruz, as Brooke

The play is still showing at the Meralco Theater until July something.

Prices at:

Orchestra Center – P1,200
Orchestra Side – P1,000
Orchestra Side Obstructed – P800
Loge Center – P900
Loge Side – P800
Balcony Center – P600
Balcony Side – P500

Catch them! It’s fun. It’s cute… and it’s soooooo…. PINK!

——————————-

*** It was just effing hassle coz I forgot to bring my eyeglasses, hence, I couldn’t recognize the faces on stage (even if we were at the Orchestra Center). I think my friend was kinda annoyed that I kept on bugging her and asking her “sino sya?”. When Professor came out, I asked her “sinetch?”, she answered “Si ano.. yung kamuka ni Sweet.. yung kamuka ni John Lapus.. yung nasa banda” Then I realized, “ahhh.. si Jett Pangan” Hahahah! Laughtrip!

BOUND, GAGGED… AND SILLY!

Bound and Gagged

A Night of Magic, Comedy, Music and so much more. :)

October 23, 2009
PETA Theater, Eymard Drive
Quezon City

I was here last night. I enjoyed the show even if I didn’t get to finish it as I was starving to death (and headed off to Ditzy Diner during the intermission). Well, at least I was still able to watch our friend, Richie, do stand up comedy. Kaso suma-total: tumakas ako sa show. :D

The show featured the comic duo host slash magician, Kel and Jay with guest performances from: the Philippines’ Premiere Ventriloquist Ony Carcamo and Ventrillusionist Wanlu; two comedians from the Comedy Cartel – winner of 2009’s Tawa ng Tawa Richie Fernandez and Mike Unson from TV 5’s Front Act; and bands like Giniling Festival (one of the coolest bands I’ve ever watched on stage) and Grin Department.

I don’t have much pictures to share though.. I wasn’t able to bring my camera. I just took a shot of our Pambansang Kamao (using my phone), none other than…

Pacman singing: Para sayo.. ang Vitwater na to.. ooohhhh.. Wapakkkkkman! LOL

Parang nakakaloko naman tawa ni Pacman dito

Too bad I wasn’t able to have our picture taken when he passed by my seat (I was starstruck — seriously  )

One thing I liked about this show is that it’s a benefit show. As you all know, I’ve been supporting charity events as much as I can. Proceeds of this went to Real Life Foundation and to those who were affected by Ondoy. :)

It was really a FUN FUN NIGHT. Like I always say: Nag-enjoy ka na, nakatulong ka pa. :)

Looking forward to more events like this. :)

…. mawawala ba naman ang party after the event? Of course, nanjan pa rin ang Friday bonding at Ditzy Diner. Too bad, Kel didn’t get to celebrate with us.. his phone was stolen. Sad. Tsktsk. :( )

MONKEY, MONKEY ANNACEL!

Posted by AC on Monday Aug 31, 2009

When I learned to conquer my fear of heights, nasobrahan naman na ang pagseek ko ng adventure. I went zipline-ing again. :D

Yesterday, I had a bonding with my supah friends since Monday is going to be a holiday. Initially, we planned to have a picnic at La Mesa EcoPark (yep, dun sa LaMesa Dam). Ganito yata talaga when you get older you tend to opt simple things like these over shopping and other glamorous stuff. Para din maiba naman. Also, one of my friends is preggy so we needed to have healthy and simple activity so she could come with us. Kaso pagdating pa lang namin sa park umulan na ng malakas, e wala na cabanas na available so we had no choice but to go home sa Fairview (my friend’s) at nagfoodtrip. After probably 2 hours mejo umayos naman ang panahon though may ambon pa din but not as hard as the rain earlier, so we want back to the park at nagzipline!

The damage is 100 pesos. 2 way na sya. Pero yung pabalik you have to do parang rapelling para makabalik ka sa base. Yun ang kelangan ng effort. It’s a lot cheaper than the one in Tagaytay (click HERE for my Tagaytay Zipline adventure) pero the gears and their zipline are way way lotek than the one in Tagaytay. Actually mejo scary nga eh baka malagot yung tali.. wahahahha! Wahahahah! What I didn’t like lang dito sa EcoPark zipline is that nakahiga lang or nakaupo.. mas gusto ko yung nakadapa.. pare feel na feel mo talagang lumilipad ka. Weeeeee!!!! :) :) :)

Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Hehe

Next stop: treetop adventure in Subic and zipline in Davao! (fingers crossed)   :)

THE SPA EXPERIENCE

Posted by AC on Saturday Jan 24, 2009

Finally! After a couple of months I was able to use the GC that my friends gave me on my birthday last year. Good thing they asked the staff of the spa if the GC can have a later expiration date (Keke: alam kong hindi mo naman magagamit yan anytime soon) because of some awful reasons.

A few days ago I dropped by Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong before I went home and it occured to me that I still have the GC of UrbanSpa with me. So I headed off to the spa and aimed to have my body (pati soul na rin sige) relieved. It was my first time in UrbanSpa (I think it is owned by Tessa Prieto-Valdes) as I am used to either get a home service massage (very convenient, cheap and swabe) or go to Bioessence, Slimmers World (GC pa rin sa gym membership ko! haha! :P ) and a spa owned by my friends (Infusion).

I got the Precious Tranquility package at UrbanSpa. As what their promotions tell: this package is about mixing pressure with pleasure. It’s a combination of oil-free Shiahtsu massage and Swedish back massage stimulates metabolism, improves skin tone and promotes cell renewal.

Honestly, I didn’t feel much pressure but I think it’s because what I got is the mildest massage. My friend who already tried the other packages told me that she really enjoyed the Le UrbanSpa Signature Massage, a mixture of Swedish, Shiahtsu and Thai stretching techniques (next time I guess I’ll take the Thai massage para matinding pressure! Haha! :P )

I just conversed with the therapist so that I can still enjoy the moments (I enjoy asking questions but I don’t like answering questions :P ). Surprisingly, just when I thought I didn’t enjoy everything, after the session I felt so relieved! It was like my skin was renewed and I felt younger (naks!) Also, I feel a little lighter. :P

Kaya masaya. At babalik ako don ulit.  Sa susunod Thai stretching na! ;)

Below are the pictures of the facilities. Click the thumbnails for larger photos.
