BIG BROTHER CRAZE

Posted by AC on Sunday Feb 7, 2010 Under TV Addict

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a PBB Double Up fan. There’s nothing wrong about being a follower, though. It’s just that I usually go home late that I no longer catch it’s primetime edition on TV. Also, I don’t have a favorite in their batch. The last PBB Season that I followed was PBB 2. I know I would sound odd and all, but I love Wendy. Haha! I liked how palaban she was and I believe that she’s the epitome of a nagpapakatotoong Pinoy. She may be bitchy and has no breeding at all, but I guess that’s just how real she is. I never really liked the hindi madapuan ng laway or the “silent water” type (that is usually the more deadly one) probably because I grew up in a non-conformist environment and studied in a university with a large number of radical students.

Anyhoo, going back to PBB Double Up. I watched it a while ago since it’s a weekend and I am just staying at home. I really prefer surfing the net and blog than watching TV, all the more if it’s something like PBB. However, it quite catches my interest everytime I hear people in the office and my friends talk about it. Also, the episode tonight was a debate. It’s an interesting show, actually. But then again, I felt like a complete idiot trying to absorb everything that they said when in fact they were just telling the same stuff as other housemates did, like the “ako ay nagpakatotoo”, “ibinibigay ko po ang best ko”, etc. etc. What’s with the pagpapakatotoo thingie when you don’t actually know what to do with your life. Like Tibo (as stated by Jayson), who always gives advices yet he doesn’t even know how to follow his own advice. Another is the “May kaya po sya.”, “Sya ang mas nakakaangat sa amin lahat.”, “Di na po nya kelangan ng pera.” Crap, you should’ve joined Wowowee instead.

Another thing that annoys me is Melai. Sorry, but I was never a Melason fan. I really don’t think that that kind of “relationship” would work. I mean, they are inside the house. They have no life but with housemates only. Jayson hasn’t seen the “real world”.. he’s a true blue promdi with limited opportunities back in the province.. wait ’til he sees the life outside of PBB. Wait ’til he sees the other women outside. Sorry, I’m just being real. What irritates me about Melai is the way she speaks, I just couldn’t understand every single thing that she utters. Imagine, what would happen to the quality of education in the Philippines if the educator is not well-educated? I remember Korina Sanchez telling Melai, “Di ba English teacher ka sa GenSan? Kaya mo sumagot ng English?”.. Ohhhh crap, she wasn’t able to say a whole sentence in English. Errrr….

Like I said, I am not a fan. The reason why I didn’t have something nice to say. :P

nice blog u got here and thanks for dropping by.

Naaaliw ako sa critique mo…And tama ka, they were all valid… Hehehe… ;) On Melai, although I enjoy Melason, your point is very valid on her command of the English language. And that for me is a concern too… Hahaha!

But I like watching the show, and stress reliever ko ito for several months na… Sometimes, I agree that dissecting happiness will eventually kill it, and so when I watch PBB I turn off my over-analyzing brain and consciously decide that for one hour or so, I will join the rest of the Filipinos in being “jologs”… Hahaha!

  3. CWW Says:

By the way, I love your new template… :)

  4. AC Says:

@Calvin: Wow, that’s a verrrry valid reason why you don’t watch anymore. Of course, women spice up your life. Haha!

@CWW: This was born out of irritation for about 15 minutes or so. Hahaha! Yun talaga eh, how the hell would she teach English when she cannot even construct a sentence in that language? Hay. Too bad di ko kase naaabutan e. Anyway, salamat re template. Thanks! :)

Oh I saw that debate episode. Right, all of them said the same thing. I was never a PBB fan, and while I was hearing all the housemates’ answers to Korina’s questions, I was thinking “So this game is just about pagpapakatotoo?”

Anyway, I find Melason cute, or maybe that’s just because of the Nicole Hyala song I’m crazy about right now. (Yep, I can take being called jologs, but the song is so me!)

Another thing I keep saying to myself whenever I get a glimpse of PBB: I should be in the house. (Hehe!)

naks naman! bagong ligo ang blog!

this is exactly why I love visiting your blogsite…you speak the truth (most of the time). I agree with all the points you raised re PBB3. The Melason is really premature. Wait til Jason meets girls of ABS-CBN, holy camoli!

  7. AC Says:

@katcarneo: I’ve been hearing a lot about that Nicole song. I saw the lyrics on Facebook, but haven’t heard the song yet. Maya nga check ko. Nababaliw din dun barkada ko e. :)

@Ape: Watchathink about the look? :(

ok naman siya. looks sleek and cool.

unang tingin kala mo blog ng guy.

im not really a fan of dark backgrounds/white text kasi lahat ng textbook ko nung elementary/highschool/college white ang page. nasanay na ung mata ko.

but ok naman ‘to. maiba naman. :)
